Charco Neurotech is an innovative medical technology organisation focused on developing wearable devices that support people living with neurological conditions. With a growing team and increasing reliance on secure collaboration and data, Charco required a modern, scalable and security‑first IT platform to support both day‑to‑day operations and future growth.
Charco Neurotech had been operating within a Google Workspace environment that no longer aligned with its evolving security, device management and compliance requirements. End‑user devices were running Windows Home editions, limiting central management and control, and there was no unified endpoint or identity‑driven security model in place.
As the organisation expanded, it became increasingly important to improve visibility, strengthen data protection, and introduce consistent security policies across users and devices. Charco required a structured migration to Microsoft 365 that would minimise disruption, improve collaboration, and significantly enhance its overall security posture, while ensuring business continuity throughout the transition.
We designed and delivered a phased migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, focusing on security, manageability and user experience. Google Drive data was migrated into SharePoint Online, enabling structured document management, improved collaboration and tighter access control. Gmail mailboxes were migrated to Microsoft 365, providing users with a consistent and familiar email and productivity experience across Outlook and Teams.
All devices were upgraded from Windows Home to Windows Pro and onboarded into Microsoft Intune, allowing for centralised device management, policy enforcement and compliance monitoring. Sophos was deployed across endpoints to provide advanced anti‑virus protection and device encryption.
To strengthen data resilience, Datto was implemented for SharePoint Online, ensuring cloud‑to‑cloud backup and rapid recovery of critical business data. Conditional Access policies and Multi‑Factor Authentication were introduced to protect user identities, with Defender for Office 365 deployed to enhance protection against phishing, malware and email‑based threats. The solution was delivered with minimal disruption and clear communication throughout.
Charco Neurotech now operates on a secure, modern Microsoft 365 platform that supports both collaboration and growth. Users benefit from improved performance, a consistent working environment and seamless access to data across devices. Centralised device and identity management has significantly reduced administrative overhead while increasing visibility and control for IT.
Security has been markedly strengthened through Conditional Access, MFA, endpoint protection and advanced email security, reducing the organisation’s exposure to cyber threats. Data is now securely stored, protected and recoverable, providing peace of mind and improved business resilience. The project has positioned Charco Neurotech with a scalable, enterprise‑grade IT foundation that supports innovation and long‑term success.
