Core Recruit is a recruitment business with a team of ten full-time users that relies on Microsoft 365 for communication and day-to-day productivity. As the organisation continued to grow, it required a more structured and secure IT environment to improve collaboration, protect company data and support staff more effectively.
Although Core Recruit was already using Microsoft 365, the business did not have a centralised document sharing platform in place and was not previously using SharePoint for collaboration or file management. This limited the organisation’s ability to securely share information, maintain consistent access controls and create a structured approach to document management across the business.
Alongside the need for a modern collaboration platform, the organisation also required onboarding into managed IT support services, including endpoint protection, remote management tooling and Microsoft 365 backup protection. The overall objective was to create a secure and scalable IT environment that would support future growth while remaining easy for staff to use.
As there was no existing SharePoint environment or legacy data to migrate, the project focused entirely on designing and implementing a new platform from the ground up.
We began by onboarding the organisation into our managed support environment and deploying core support and security services across the business. This included implementing Sophos Intercept X endpoint protection, deploying ScreenConnect remote support access, and installing RMM tooling to provide proactive monitoring and management capabilities.
To improve resilience and protect Microsoft 365 services, we also deployed Datto SaaS Backup protection for all users and SharePoint data, ensuring reliable backup and recovery capabilities were in place from the outset.
A major part of the engagement involved designing and implementing a completely new SharePoint Online environment tailored to the organisation’s operational requirements. Using the client’s proposed structure and security group guidance as a starting point, we created a SharePoint solution with organised libraries, structured permissions and controlled access groups to support secure collaboration across the business.
Because there was no existing SharePoint environment or data migration requirement, the project focused on establishing a clean and scalable foundation that users could adopt immediately. To support onboarding and adoption, we also connected to each user device, configured SharePoint library synchronisation where required, and assisted staff with accessing and using the new platform effectively.
Core Recruit now benefits from a professionally structured SharePoint environment that provides a centralised and secure platform for collaboration and document management. Staff can now securely access shared files and synchronise libraries directly to their devices, creating a far more efficient and organised way of working across the business.
The wider onboarding project also improved the organisation’s security and operational resilience through the deployment of endpoint protection, proactive management tooling and Microsoft 365 backup services. With these systems now centrally managed, Core Recruit has a far stronger IT foundation capable of supporting future growth and ongoing operational development.
