The Institute of Health Visiting (iHV) is a UK-based professional body dedicated to promoting excellence in health visiting practice. It supports health visitors through training, research, and advocacy, aiming to improve outcomes for children and families. The organisation plays a vital role in shaping public health policy and delivering evidence-based guidance to practitioners across the country.
The Institute of Health Visiting was operating primarily through Google Workspace, which presented limitations in terms of integration, security, and scalability. While the team could access basic email and document sharing functions, they were unable to fully utilise the collaborative and compliance features available in Microsoft 365. This hindered their ability to streamline workflows, manage devices securely, and ensure robust data protection. With growing operational demands and a need for improved digital infrastructure, the organisation sought a solution that would support its evolving needs and enhance productivity across the board.
We proposed a comprehensive migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, tailored to the organisation’s operational requirements. This included transferring all emails and data to Microsoft 365, setting up SharePoint for structured document management, and configuring Datto backup for both SharePoint and the all the users to ensure data resilience.
To support the transition, we scheduled on-site onboarding and project days at the New Place Hotel. During these sessions, we joined all devices to Azure Active Directory and enrolled them in Microsoft Intune for centralised device management. Each device was allocated one hour to ensure a smooth and thorough setup. Our team provided hands-on support throughout the process, ensuring staff were comfortable with the new systems and that all data was securely migrated and backed up.
This approach ensured minimal disruption to daily operations while delivering a future-proof solution aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals.
The migration to Microsoft 365 has significantly improved the Institute’s operational efficiency and data security. Staff now benefit from seamless collaboration through Teams and SharePoint, while device management via Intune has enhanced compliance and reduced IT overhead. The Datto backup solution provides peace of mind, ensuring critical data is protected and recoverable.
The on-site onboarding sessions helped staff quickly adapt to the new environment, and the structured setup of devices has laid the foundation for scalable growth. The organisation is now better equipped to support its mission, with a modern digital infrastructure that enables secure, efficient, and collaborative working.
