BitLocker Device Encryption – If your device is lost or stolen, BitLocker puts everything under a lock and key, so no one else can access your systems or data.

Windows Information Protection (WIP) – WIP helps to protect against potential data leakage without interfering with your experience. It protects apps and data against accidental data leaks on business and personal devices.

Hyper-V – This virtualisation feature allows the user to run multiple operating systems and easily move virtual machines between users. This is something that you have to enable manually as it is vital to check that your device has the necessary power to run the feature.

Offline Files – This is a feature exclusive to Windows 10 Pro, it allows you to work on files that are stored on the network, even when you’re not on the premise or have no internet connection. This feature is a lifesaver for those who have transitioned to working from home.

Windows Updates for Business – In Windows 10 Pro you get the option to defer updates and choose which time of day they take place. This option does not exist with Home, the updates are automatically enrolled.

So, what about Windows 10 Home?

Windows 10 Home is the version you’re most likely to receive when buying a new PC. The key features of Windows 10 are perfect for those using their devices for non-business purposes and just need the basic software to get them by. Windows 10 Home also supports game streaming for you fellow gamers!

To keep home users more secure, Windows updates are all completely automated, this means when your PC is due a Windows Update the Anniversary Update will overhaul and the security updates will be installed without the option to pause or ignore.

If you have made it this far, why don’t you see what features they have in common…

All versions of Windows 10 come with Cortana, Microsoft’s virtual assistant. It can help to make calendar entries, take dictation, open applications and local files, search the web, and give directions, all from voice commands on your PC.

Both Windows versions allows you to create different workspaces on your PC thanks to the new Task View option. Also, open applications can now be dragged and dropped between different desktops, making the whole process simple, fast and helpful.

Microsoft Edge browser is available on all Windows editions and is compatible with both Apple and Android devices. Some of the more complex features which all of Windows software supports is Windows Defender anti-virus, firewall, and secure boot, plus touch-support and Windows Hello facial recognition on devices that have these capabilities.

However, Pro offers those in business the advancement in security and compatibility that you need.
